December 25, A Christmas Day Prayer

“Our Father in Heaven, In Jesus Name we bow our hearts before you.  We come to you on the day that commemorates the birth of Your Son; our hearts are filled with praise.  

Today we share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and the astonishment of all who first heard the news of your great gift.  We humble ourselves like the wise men, who forgot their own importance in the presence of One so great:  Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  

Thank you for giving us the hope that proclaims the name of Jesus. Thank you for the joy that changes everything.  We praise you for the peace that overcomes and overwhelms.  We are so grateful for the love that has astonished the world.   You have given us Your Son.  

Born that night, You stepped into our lives by your grace and mercy.  We worship You today and always.  

May our lives forever proclaim the name of Jesus and His love.  May we live in response to His death that heals brokenness and forgives sin.  May we live in the power of His resurrection that secures life eternal.  May Your presence fill our hearts as we daily walk by faith.

Thank you for Jesus, our Great Shepherd, our Savior, and our King.  We commit our lives to You afresh and anew.
