About:

Jim grew up in southwest VA and attended Va. Tech for his undergrad. After graduating in 1994, he was asked to join the staff team of, at the time, the only on-campus church at Va. Tech. Jim was on staff and one of the pastors of that church, New Life Christian Fellowship (NLCF), for 25 years, with one of his roles being to develop, launch, and coach the church plants of NLCF. For the past ten has been consulting for churches and coaching pastors in addition to his pastoral work. In May of 2021 he stepped off the pastoral team and now consults/coaches full time with churches, leadership teams, non-profits, denominational leadership teams and even a podcast that are spread all over the country. Having graduated with his masters from Leland, and his Doctor of Theological Ministry (DTM) from Northern Seminary he is excited to use his educational exposure to be a blessing within the church. He has written one book, is co-writing another now on how young ministers can be wiser in their first few years in ministry to avoid some of the failings that many pastors are experiencing farther down the road, and developing a third based on his doctoral research on the conflict that different LGBTQIA+ positions can cause within churches.
