February 10, Walk

Today, receive encouragement for your personal walk of faith from three specific passages in the letter to the Ephesians.

"For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves." Ephesians 1:4-6

You are chosen.  He has called you to be holy and blameless.  You have lovingly been adopted through Jesus Christ.  Your salvation involves the forgiveness of sins. But, oh, there is so much more.  Look at the blessings.  God has brought you to Himself.  He has made you His child.  Your holiness is His work in you because He loves you and desires the deepest fellowship with you.   Stay surrendered to Him and His work in you.  You are chosen. You are adopted.  You are loved.

“To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ.” Ephesians 3:8

Within these instructions to the Ephesian church concerning salvation for the Gentiles, Paul  expresses personal praise to God for his own salvation, as well as praise for God’s undeniable grace in calling him as a minister of the Gospel.

Today, never lose the wonder of your salvation and the grandeur of grace in how God has called you and set you apart unto Him.  Never lose sight of this blessed gift!

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2

You are called to walk – to live authentically – by the influence of Christ’s love in you.   Five of the most overwhelming and inspiring words you can receive today are, “just as Christ loved us.”  So, seek to love others as undeniably as Jesus loves you.  In this way, your life becomes a pleasing and acceptable offering of worship to our great God.

So today, remember that you are loved, you have been given the blessed gift of salvation, and you possess the glorious calling to walk in the way of His love.

Let’s all walk well.

Blessings,

Ken
